  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup rice syrup or sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 stalks green onion, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 red chili, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Start with boiling a small pot of water.
  2. Depending on your preference, cook the eggs for around 7 minutes for a runny yolk, or around 10 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
  3. Immediately transfer the boiled eggs to an ice water bath to cool them down.
  4. In the meantime, prepare the Mayak marinade by combining soy sauce, water, rice syrup (or sugar), minced garlic, chopped green onion, chopped green chili, chopped red chili, and sesame seeds in an airtight container. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Once eggs are cooled, peel them carefully.
  6. Place the peeled eggs into the airtight container with the marinade.
  7. Refrigerate the eggs overnight for the flavors to meld.
  8. Serve chilled, and for an enhanced taste, pair with white rice and a drizzle of sesame oil.
